Lookout Point and the BBC announce that BBC Wales Head of Drama Faith Penhale will join Lookout Point as joint CEO in February 2016, building on the wider relationship between the BBC, Lookout Point and BBC Worldwide. At BBC Wales Faith has delivered an ambitious slate of award-winning dramas including Doctor Who, Sherlock, Atlantis, A Poet in New York and the upcoming War and Peace. In her new role at Lookout Point, Faith will be responsible for expanding Lookout Point as a leading production company in the UK and global drama marketplace.
Chairman and CEO of Lookout Point Simon Vaughan says
“Faith joining as joint CEO is an exciting step for the company. We have all hugely enjoyed working together on War & Peace and this move solidifies Lookout Point’s reputation and capacity as a production company.”
Faith Penhale says
“Over the past five years I’ve been lucky enough to work with some of the best writers and creatives in British drama, and I’m immensely proud to have been part of the BBC Wales drama story. I’m incredibly excited about joining Lookout Point, a company that already has a unique and trusted position in the industry, and to be continuing to work with the writers, producers and directors we have here, growing a slate of the most ambitious, writer driven, British drama.”
Lookout Point, BBC and BBC Worldwide are already working together on the BBC’s upcoming War & Peace, and under the new structure will continue to collaborate on future projects.
BBC Worldwide remains the largest single shareholder of Lookout Point and will continue to be the exclusive distributor on Lookout Point programmes going forward. “The Lookout Point team enhanced by the fresh impetus that Faith will bring to the company makes this a very exciting development for both Lookout Point and BBC Worldwide,” says Helen Jackson, Chief Content Officer of BBC Worldwide and Board Director of Lookout Point.
Director of BBC Wales Rhodri Talfan Davies says
“We’re going to miss her for sure, but it’s been a blast! Faith has penned an extraordinary new chapter in the story of drama-making in Wales. And she’s done it her way – with a wit and creativity and joy that lights up the screen. It’s hard to imagine a bigger or bolder contribution to the BBC.”
Polly Hill, Controller of BBC Drama Commissioning says
“It’s been a pleasure working with Faith and I would like to take this opportunity to say thanks for her commitment to BBC Wales drama over the last 5 years. I wish her all the very best in her exciting new role, and look forward to continuing to work with her on new projects through Lookout Point.”
