As the finalists for C21’s International Drama Awards are named, Lookout Point are thrilled to announce that our productions have been nominated in four categories.
We are delighted that Gentleman Jack is up for both the ‘English Language Drama’ award and the ‘Best Casting of a Drama Series’ award, competing against the talents of: HBO’s Chernobyl, Netflix’s The Spy, Top Boy, Amazon Prime’s Good Omens, Hanna, Channel 4’s Catch 22, BBC One’s Years and Years, BBC America’s Killing Eve and FX Networks’ Pose.
Suranne Jones’ performance as Anne Lister in Gentleman Jack, is in the running for the ‘Best Individual Performance’ award, together with Jared Harris (Chernobyl, HBO), Jodie Comer (Killing Eve, BBC America), Emma Thompson (Years and Years, BBC One), Billy Porter (Pose, FX Networks) and Johannes Lassen (Below the Surface II, Kanal 5).
While Les Misérables has been nominated for the ‘Best Mini-Series’ award, alongside Channel 4’sCatch 22, ITV’s Manhunt, Netflix’s When They See Us, and BBC One’s The Cry, Years and Years.
C21’s International Drama Awards are voted for by the world’s leading scripted commissioners and buyers, and as such define the top shows on air around the world. From 282 entries, across 11 categories, the finalists reflect the prolific drama output over the past 12 months. Chairman of the judges and C21’s editor-in-chief/managing director David Jenkinson explains how “the mix of finalists this year is a testament to the amazing quality of shows being made on all continents and the continued dominance of the drama genre”.
The winners will be announced at the International Drama Awards Ceremony on December 5th, as part of Content London 2019.
