Netflix announce a new six-part limited series adaptation of Pride and Prejudice from Lookout Point.

Netflix have announced a new six-part limited series adaptation of Pride and Prejudice from Lookout Point, starring Emma Corrin, Jack Lowden and Olivia Colman. Acclaimed novelist and screenwriter Dolly Alderton (Everything I Know About Love) and award-winning director Euros Lyn (Heartstopper) are joining forces on the adaptation, which promises to stay true to Austen’s original prose, welcoming long-time admirers and first-time readers alike into its enduring world.

“Retelling this extraordinary story feels like a once-in-a-generation privilege,” said Alderton. “Pride and Prejudice is the blueprint for the rom-com — revisiting it has been a joy. The novel brims with richness: layered relationships, biting humour, and emotional nuance. It offers a rare chance to explore themes of love, family, identity, and societal expectation, all while honouring Austen’s brilliant observational voice. With Euros Lyn directing a dream cast, I’m thrilled to introduce Lizzie and Darcy to both longtime fans and those discovering them for the first time.”

The forthcoming series will be set in the Regency period, faithfully reflecting the era in which the novel was written. Leading the cast are some of Britain’s most distinguished performers: Golden Globe winner Emma Corrin (Black Mirror, Nosferatu) and BAFTA recipient Jack Lowden (Slow Horses, Benediction) step into the iconic roles of Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy. Academy Award winner Olivia Colman (The Favourite, The Crown) will take on the role of the irrepressible Mrs. Bennet.

“Elizabeth Bennet is a dream role — truly once in a lifetime,” Corrin remarked. “To interpret such a beloved character, especially alongside Olivia and Jack, and through Dolly’s beautiful writing, is the greatest gift. I hope this version allows a whole new audience to fall in love with the story.”

Laura Lankester, Will Johnston, and Louise Mutter are executive producers for Lookout Point alongside Alderton, Corrin and Lyn. Lisa Osborne (Wolf Hall: The Mirror and the Light) will serve as producer. Filming is scheduled to begin in the UK later this year.

“We are delighted to be sharing this beloved British classic with our global audience,” said Netflix executive Mona Qureshi. “Pride and Prejudice is the ultimate romantic comedy. Dolly’s fierce intelligence and enormous heart, twinned with her genuine love of the Austen novel means she is able to bring new insights, whilst celebrating all that the generations of fans hold so dear. The calibre of a cast led by Emma, Jack and Olivia is testament to this precious story being in the best possible hands with Euros Lyn and the team at Lookout Point at the helm.”
